Me
Professional
Since October, 2002, I've worked as a software developer for McClatchy Interactive, a company supporting McClatchy Company newspapers through development of content management, registration, search and events management systems.
Previously, I was in a web developer capacity for The Sacramento Bee, working on both internal content management tools and a process that converted classified data to generate area-based maps of garage sales.
Photography
Photography was my minor in college. After not being as serious about new work between my graduation and moving to North Carolina, I've been out much more. Much of my work focueses on abstracted architectural landscapes. I am also looking to do more with environmental portraiture.
Much of my current work is done with a Nikon D70. Earlier in the latest bout of new work, I was working with a Nikon Coolpix 4300, which still gets some use, but not nearly as much. By and large, the shutter lag kills it for me as a dependable creative tool.
In the past, I've worked with a Nikon N6006, a Holga, briefly and some Calumet rail 4x5 view cameras. Those all focused on black and white work, developed in a traditional darkroom. I prefer Ilford films and printing papers.
Personal
Most of my off hours are spend reading, photographing and programming. Back in June of 2001, I finished California AIDS Ride 8, quite possibly the best week of my life.
Future
The grand plan is to get off my ass and finish more web work. One is getting more of my photography online.
